Sorry for the delay, folks!! My keyboard bit the dust about the time I was going to update the blog and haven't been near a store that sells keyboards!! Pulling off the road, to go shopping, while pulling a trailer is just not something you do - if you can help it!! We picked up the trailer on May 3 and spent a day/night making sure everything was in working order - it was!!! Left on May 4 and headed to just south of Macon, GA for 2 nights - 7 hr drive. The campground was lovely, but we ended up spending 3 nights as it was raining pretty heavily and high winds were predicted (a no, no pulling a trailer), In addition, heavy rain and flash floods were hitting Nashville, our destination. We were anxious to get to Nashville as our daughter, Gillian, had called to say that husband Josh had suffered a concussion. He is a professional horse trainer and was knocked to the ground when a certain horse was not interested in being led into a trailer. Josh was lucky it wasn't worse. We arrived 2 days after his accident - he was up, barely. A lot of nausea and dizziness. Gil is a chiropractor with her own office, so she had to be in to work every day. Alan and I managed the house and the kids - Marshall 41/2 and baby Dean, 5 mos. We had a ball!! Josh also trains and boards horses on their ranch, so there were borders coming and going, beautiful horses to admire, chickens wandering all over (Sam didn't like them so much), goats wandering all over, and a mule named Jed. Something going on all the time!! Tennessee is one of the prettiest places we have ever been - rolling, heavily wooded hills and most of the roads back into the hills are called "hollows" i.e. 1900 Burke Hollow Rd. They are located about 20 min from Franklin, a suburb of Nashville. Beautiful homes dot the countryside (it is horse country) - Gil drove us by George Jones' property - the house was hidden in the hills but the grounds were stunning!! One day we attended a rodeo parade, followed by a ranch rodeo where they perform events more commonly seen on a ranch such as calf tying etc. Ringside seats along the fencing - such fun!! The horses thundered by about 5 ft away from us - another thing to cross off the bucket list!! Hope it is not the last one we get to see! We are happy to report that by the time we left on May 14, Josh was making progress every day!! It did rain most of our time in Nashville and then again on the way to Minn. We spent 2 nights in the middle (almost) of an Illinois cornfield in a very small, but lovely campground. The caretaker had a labradoodle, 112#, named Merlin. They boys loved him and I will attach a picture of him riding in the golf cart with his mama. I forgot to mention that in GA there was a couple camping with their full size poodle. They had a SMALL trailer (probably 5 ft W by 8Ft long) that looked like a tear drop on it's side. They slept in that while the dog slept in the full size jeep!! While in ILL we drove a ways down the original Route 66 - come on, you know you are old enough to remember that!! Our next stop was in southern Wisc - what they call an RV resort. Large, very nice with lots of things for kids and families - but you PAY for all of that. It was the only one we could find, but in the future this type is not our preference. We prefer the smaller, simpler campgrounds. We then spent 2 nights in northern WISC - absolutely a beautiful state with every kind of tree in the world and gently rolling hills. Our second day there, guess what, it started to rain and it has been raining ever since. That would be 4 days ago - oh well. Arrived Minn last Sun - will update our visit in a few days!!
