Sorry there aren't more pix, folks. By the time we hit Georgetown my cold was in full force and things got pretty quiet. Georgetown has a population of around 15,000 and is absolutely lovely! The downtown was like the town I grew up in - 50's look but nicely revitalized with 1700 buildings as well. We did make it out for dinner the first night in, and morning walks with the boys, but for me that was about it. They were offering 3 nights for two and we decided to take advantage as I wasn't going to be much help to Alan on the water. We took the time to relax. Did see enough of GT to know that we wouldn't hesitate to return again. Alan hired a cab one day and went to Wallyworld as we needed to do some reprovisioning. He left with his list and did an excellent job!! The Walmarts are always outside the walking distance it seems. We could have biked but needed such things as dog food, case of water and 40# bag of salt for the head. Always looking on the charts for marinas that offer reprovisioning opportunities when we think we are going to need them. Fresh produce and vegetables are usually the gating items. The second most important item is laundry - we go about 2 weeks before we and everything else start to stink!! This being carless is interesting. It is a total state of mind kind of thing. We know we don't have one and really don't think about it. It is what it is and encourages creativity at times!! Once we find a somewhat temporary port on the Chesapeake we will return to Jekyll to pick up the truck. Every night while we in GT, 5-6 boats would come in and then leave the next am - most heading north. It seems the same group of boats travel somewhat together as they are usually heading for the same ports. It is fun to reconnect with those you have seen along the way and compare notes or text with them while enroute!
